The water of the spring rises from beneath the Lokovica slope. Already in the last century, local residents used it for drinking. They also used it to "water" sick livestock, because they believed it had healing properties. In 1933, the villagers of Lokovica arranged the spring. On a concrete block they inscribed the date marking the day when Mr. Martin Tekavc was ordained as a new priest, of which his fellow villagers were very proud. According to legend, many centuries ago this valley was settled by Prince Tresimir, who came with his people from somewhere beyond the Urals. The native inhabitants, who at that time lived in modest settlements, withdrew out of fear into the surrounding forests and caves. But because Prince Tresimir was a progressive and good ruler, they soon came to live in harmony with him. In his honour, they named the settlement where they lived Tresimirje. Over the centuries, however, the name of the village slowly changed to Družmirje. Due to coal mining, the villagers of Družmirje were resettled and the village demolished. As the ground subsided, a lake formed in the area of the former Družmirje.
The water was analysed at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana. Use the water at your own risk. Dumping of waste is prohibited.
The Municipality of Šoštanj advises that the water in Tresimir's Spring is not drinkable.
