The Strekna cycling route connects Velenje with Dravograd and on towards Austria (Lavamund / Labot) and is considered one of the most well-maintained and safe cycling routes in Slovenia. The trail runs along a former railway line through the Mislinja valley and the Huda luknja gorge, then continues towards Koroska and across the border.

It is an approximately 40 km long, asphalted and separated cycling route with a gentle incline, so it is suitable for recreational cyclists, families and electric bikes.

A special feature of the Strekna is riding through tunnels, over bridges and along the river, with views of Pohorje and Urslja gora, which gives the route a unique panoramic experience. On the Austrian side it also connects to the wider cycling network along the Drava (Drava Bike).

Due to the safe infrastructure, the natural backdrop and the cross-border connection, the Strekna is one of the most popular cycling routes for a longer trip from the Saleska Valley towards Austria.
