The Saleska Valley cycling loop is one of the most recognisable recreational trails in northern Slovenia, connecting Velenje, Sostanj and the area of the Saleska lakes into a complete circular experience. The route leads through one of the greenest and most varied valleys, where the urban environment, industrial heritage and well-maintained natural areas come together.
The trail is mostly flat and well marked, so it is suitable for a wide range of cyclists – from recreational riders to families. A special feature of the route are the three lakes (Velenje, Skale and Druzmirje), which today are an important recreational and tourist area with well-maintained cycling and walking paths.
The loop allows easy circular exploration of the region without demanding climbs, while at the same time offering a constant change of setting: lake shores, the urban sections of Velenje and Sostanj, and quieter green areas. Due to the good infrastructure and connections, it is considered one of the key cycling experiences in the Saleska Valley.
