The cycling route Between the Lakes and Topolšica connects the Šalek lakes with the spa town of Topolšica and offers a varied yet recreationally pleasant experience in one of the greenest regions of Slovenia. The route combines Lake Velenje, Lake Škale and Lake Družmirje with forest and rural sections towards Topolšica.
It is a medium-length cycling experience that interweaves well-maintained lakeside paths, local roads and natural passages through the Saleska Valley. The area is known for its excellent infrastructure for cycling and recreation, as well as for the thermal offer in Topolšica, which gives the route additional tourist value.
The special feature of the route is its diversity – from peaceful lake views to slightly varied sections towards Topolšica, where a view opens onto the wooded hills of the Savinjska region.
Thanks to the good connection between nature, recreation and thermal tourism, this cycling route is an excellent choice for an active outing, a relaxed ride or a full-day exploration of the Saleska Valley.
