The cycling route from Mozirje to Velenje Beach connects the Upper and Šaleška Valleys into one of the most varied cycling experiences in the Savinjska region. The route runs through places such as Šoštanj, Topolšica and rural sections along the Paka River, where nature, the thermal offer and well-maintained cycling connections intertwine.
It is a moderately demanding cycling route, approximately 35 km long with around 350 m of climb, suitable for recreational cyclists with some fitness. The surface is a combination of asphalt and consolidated roads, which allows for a varied but flowing ride through the valley.
A special feature of the route is the gradual transition from the alpine landscape of Mozirje into the more open Šaleška Valley, where cyclists are greeted by the modern, well-maintained Velenje Beach – one of the most popular recreational spots in the region.
Thanks to its views, good infrastructure and the linking of several tourist points, this route is an excellent choice for a longer outing, sports recreation or exploring the Savinjska Valley by bike.

Mozirski gaj is a flower park and open-air ethnographic museum in Mozirje, created by Slovenian gardeners and locals in the 1980s. It arose from an overgrown market-town common where there had been illegal rubbish dumps. In this way, they transformed the desecrated land into a flower park. It lies on the right bank of the Savinja River, spreads over an area of 7 ha, and is open from mid-April to mid-October. During this time there are successive flower exhibitions, and themed gardens are also arranged, e.g. a group of aromatic herbs and medicinal plants; ethnographic buildings add further variety...
