The trail from Gorica to Kozelj is one of the most popular short hiking options in the Velenje area, ideal for a quick escape into nature. Kozelj (590 m) is considered the nearest viewpoint hill above the city and is known as an accessible recreation spot, suitable throughout the year.
This route from Gorica offers a somewhat longer, yet still easy and undemanding experience (about 5 km, ~1.5 h), which makes it excellent for a relaxed outing, a run or family recreation.
Kozelj stands out for its views of Velenje, the Saleska Valley and the surrounding hills, and in fine weather the view reaches all the way to Pohorje, Urslja gora and Peca. At the top, visitors are greeted by well-maintained resting areas, which further increases the appeal of the destination.
