Presenting how cultural heritage, natural attractions, tourism, the economy and the rest of a destination's offer come together.

SKL information cloud The information cloud of the Savinjska statistical region (SAVINJSKA buy LOCAL - SKL) contains a wealth of data and registers intended for communication. Communication is designed to flow at all levels between visitors and providers who are currently in the Savinjska region, or who are still planning to visit Savinjska and are exploring the possibilities and their wishes.

The SKL register of legal entities (hereinafter LE) is the first group of data on providers of goods and services in the Savinjska region. Any legal entity with a tax number (the Savinjska LE register) that wants to join the project can present its activity on the map at the points of its location. The presentation of the offer is tailored to the provider's wishes, from the level of a simple flyer to websites in several languages. Visitors can browse the offer of the entire region by industry, by quick keywords (joint offer) or by selecting criteria in the search engine. The credibility of provider data is verified at least once a year.

After a period of intensive work on consolidating the offer, bringing in new stakeholders, monitoring responses and visits, and targeted investment in the directions agreed in the development strategies, the system provides enough data to structure the offer. We determine what is acceptable, what is good, what is strategically emerging, and what is boutique and exceptional. We create incoming sales packages for green tourism.

2. Register of Places to See points. The second group of data in the SKL cloud consists of the geographic points "Places to See". Places to See points (cultural heritage, natural attractions, beautiful views...) are locations on the map and in the field where there is something we recommend visitors see, visit and get to know through the interesting story behind such a point. Within the project, we prepare points that we believe are interesting to visitors and that we recommend seeing and visiting. These points are intended for anyone who wants to include them in their own thematic maps and boutique offer, rounding out the information and making it attractive.

3. Thematic map "Places to See". The third group of geographic points is tied to a website and an Info Point. Such a group is the basis for an individual "Places to See" thematic map. It is available to any provider who is part of the SKL project and has their own Info Point integrated into SKL. On the map, they can present "Places to See" points of their own choosing, which they consider interesting for their promotion and for attracting visits to their location. They can also include public points from the "Places to See" map offered by the SKL project, as well as points of other providers presented in the SKL register that they believe complement the offer of their individual thematic map. Individual thematic maps can be limited to the territories where the provider operates (a municipality, a nearby mountain, an area of interest within the tourist offer, a destination, ...), all according to the client's wishes. Such a thematic map is a source of the offer by keyword.

An example of upgrading the existing Terme Topolšica website by integrating the SKL thematic map. Each point on the map is managed centrally in one place, and any change is visible on all the maps where the point is displayed.

 

Examples of solutions for presenting an offer with digital maps that you can find on the market.

The offer on the ground is dynamic and impossible to manage from the top down. A printed map is a brochure whose lifespan is controlled by the number of printed copies, while online publications are permanent and need to be maintained and networked in a controlled way. And this is where the problem arises, since every point on the map stands on its own, and whenever something changes, its content also has to be updated on the map.
