Braslovče Lake, which lies near the market town of Braslovče, is a popular destination for walks and relaxation. Around the lake runs an approximately 1.5-kilometre-long forest educational and walking trail, which allows for pleasant walks in nature. By the lake there is also the Brunarica Jezero restaurant, which is renowned for its delicious offer of fish dishes and other specialities. Its terrace offers a wonderful view of the lake, which further contributes to a pleasant culinary experience. Braslovče Lake is an excellent choice for fishing, relaxation and active leisure time, suitable for individuals, couples and families alike.
Braslovče Lake, which covers approximately 4.5 hectares, was artificially created in 1961 by damming the Trebnik stream. The idea for the lake was realised by the Braslovče Tourist Association with the help of the company Nivo Celje. The water from the Trebnik spring was dammed in the Plaskan valley, thus creating a natural lake. In addition to the lake, infrastructure such as water supply, electricity and sewerage was arranged, and a rock tower and boathouse were built. Over time, a catering offer also came to life around the lake – first with a small buffet, and later with an inn built by the Braslovče Catering Company.
Braslovče Lake soon became a popular centre for various activities. Events, sports and water activities took place here, such as skating shows, hockey matches and motor races in winter, and swimming competitions and gymnastic performances in summer. The lake was also a popular spot for camping, and on weekends dances and concerts with live music were held.
Today, Braslovče Lake is primarily a place for quiet walks and relaxation in nature. The trail around the lake is suitable for all age groups, while anglers enjoy fishing. Brunarica Jezero ensures a pleasant culinary experience during a visit.
