Gonzarjeva pec

Gonzarjeva pec is known for its compact rock with no artificially shaped holds and footholds. The climbing route, about 70 vertical metres long, is equipped only with steel cables that allow safe climbing from the base to the top. The via ferrata is among the more demanding in Slovenia and in certain parts is rated D/E.

Access to the starting point is from Vinska Gora, where you can park by the church. Below the wall there is also a developed climbing crag, and along the route additional steel cables accompany you for safety. At the top of the via ferrata a bench and a wonderful view of the Saleska Valley await you.

Gonzarjeva pec is a popular destination for lovers of adrenaline and demanding climbing. It is located along the road from Arja vas towards Velenje, where you will quickly notice it as you emerge from the forest. Climbing requires appropriate equipment: a climbing harness, a via ferrata set, a helmet, via ferrata gloves, climbing aids and suitable footwear. Climbing is an excellent opportunity for sports activities in the countryside, but do not forget about safety!
