Sveti Križ

 Sveti Križ

The hill of Sv. Križ above Bele Vode was once called Oslovska gora. It offers a wonderful view in all directions, especially of the Saleska Valley with Šoštanj and Velenje and Paški Kozjak in the background, and of the Lower Savinjska Valley all the way to Celje. An asphalt road leads to the top of the hill. There stand two pilgrimage churches of the Holy Cross and also the Holy Steps, which lead from the lower car park up to the churches. The older one was built between 1833 and 1840, and the more recent one between 1850 and 1857. From the summit, on which a large number of church buildings and a relay tower stand, a beautiful view opens up onto Golte, Smrekovec, Peca, Uršlja gora and part of Štajerska. On it are two pilgrimage churches connected to a legend.

The view opens up onto Smrekovec and the Velenje highlands with smoking Šoštanj. The summit is located in a subregion formed by the Velenje highlands and the Konjice highlands, which is part of the Eastern Alpine region.
