Lom Hill

Access to the starting point: a) From the direction of Maribor, drive along the motorway to the Arja vas exit, where you continue right towards Velenje or Slovenj Gradec. Drive through Velika Pirešica, Črnova and Vinska Gora to Velenje, where you continue straight past the Gorenje factory towards Šoštanj. A little after Velenje, at the roundabout, turn towards Šoštanj; at the Thermal Power Plant turn onto the bridge and drive through the centre of Šoštanj. A little after the Karel Destovnik - Kajuh Primary School, turn left towards Topolšica. After about 4 km you arrive in Topolšica, or at Terme Topolšica on the left, where you can park in the large car park of the Vesna hotel. b) From the direction of Ljubljana, drive along the motorway to the Šentrupert exit, where you will already see the signs for Topolšica. Then drive through Preserje, Male Braslovče and Letuš towards Šmartno ob Paki. From here continue to the village of Gorenje, where you turn right onto the main road towards Velenje. A little before Velenje, at the roundabout, turn towards Šoštanj; at the Thermal Power Plant turn onto the bridge and drive through the centre of Šoštanj. A little after the Karel Destovnik - Kajuh Primary School, turn left towards Topolšica. After about 4 km you arrive in Topolšica, or at Terme Topolšica on the left, where you can park in the large car park of the Vesna hotel. Route description: From the Terme Topolšica car park, walk through the spa park, where there is a memorial room for the signing of the German capitulation. The marked trail begins above the road at the steps that lead up the hill. Soon we reach the car park of the Topolšica Hospital, where a sign directs us onto the steep trail into the forest above the hospital. After 15 minutes we reach an asphalt road, along which we descend a little. At the drinking water treatment facility we turn left onto a steep asphalt road, where we follow the markings through the forest. When we come out of the forest, we leave the road and head across a meadow and then through the forest until the path brings us to a gravel road, along which we continue. The path leads us through mixed forest along the ridge of Lom to the abandoned Dražnik farm. From here we continue along the road to the Vodovnik farm and then to the Ravs farm. A little further on we reach the end of the road, beside which there is a weekend cottage. Here we turn right into the forest and after a few metres we reach the marker for the summit of Lom (Lomek).
