
The Ob jezeru City Stadium is a stadium in Velenje. It is home to the men's team NK Rudar Velenje and the women's team ŽNK Rudar Škale. The stadium has a capacity of 2,341 seats, and it also has standing areas.[1] The stadium is one of the larger central sports facilities in Velenje and is at the same time the largest open-air training space in the city. The complex is located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Škale, a good 3 km from the city center, and was built in 1955. It was last renovated in 2010. The stadium is not intended only for football matches, but international athletics competitions also take place there and it is the home of Slovenian athletes.
Today the city stadium complex consists of: the main grass field, surrounded by an athletics track with eight lanes, made of synthetic material. The facility also has artificial lighting, which was installed during the last renovation in 1998, a covered stand with 1,864 seats, and within the stand building there is also a small fitness area for the needs of athletes, sports changing rooms and an auxiliary building for storing sports equipment and maintenance machines; an artificial turf field measuring 65 x 100 m, the facility is artificially lit, an auxiliary grass field, an asphalt field for five-a-side football or handball, and an asphalt field for basketball.
