Solčava Panoramic Road

Experience the magic of one of the most beautiful panoramic routes in Slovenia. The Solčava Panoramic Road takes you through the treasures of the natural and cultural heritage of the Solčava area. The route is full of breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, valleys and hospitable highland farms, where tradition meets modernity. You are accompanied by the little shepherd Krištof, who guides you along the traces of the old stories and traditions of these mysterious places.

How to start? The Solčava Panoramic Road is 37 km long and is suitable for exploring by car, motorcycle, bicycle or on foot. You can choose one of various routes, adapted to your wishes and time:

  • One-day trip: The central part of the route is 21 km long and includes 12 stops (marked in green). Most of the route is paved, only a small part is gravel.
  • Full-day trip: Continue along the road towards Matkov Kot (8 km, 3 stops, blue colour). You will enjoy wonderful views of the glacial valley.
  • Multi-day visit: Explore additional routes, such as the road to the Bukovc farm (6 km, orange colour), where you can set off to the mountain pasture in Grohot.
  • Themed routes: The Solčava Panoramic Road offers starting points for numerous themed and hiking trails (marked with a dashed line).
  • Entry points: Solčava, Logarska Dolina, Zgornje Sleme and Pavličevo sedlo from Austria.
