Rest area before the tunnel - Dolič

The railway tunnel in Mislinja is walled with hewn stone at both entrances. The tunnel has a horseshoe shape, which gives it great strength. The walls inside the tunnel are lined with hewn stone and brick. The keystones of both entrance portals to the tunnel are especially beautifully shaped.

The tunnel was built during the construction of the Celje – Wolfsberg railway line, which was opened in 1899. It was used for railway traffic until 1968, when the Dravograd – Velenje railway line was discontinued.
