The trail to Jakec (528 m) is one of the most popular viewpoints above the southern edge of the Saleska Valley. Thanks to its proximity to the city and the pleasant natural surroundings, it is an excellent choice for a quick outing or daily recreation.
Jakec stands out for its cultural and historical value – at the top stands the church of St. Jacob from the 16th century, considered one of the oldest in the area, which gives the location a special character.
In addition to history, the view is also delightful: it opens up onto Velenje, the Saleska Valley and the wider surroundings, and in fine weather all the way to the distant hills.
Thanks to its easy accessibility, scenic views and points of interest, the Staro Velenje – Jakec trail is an excellent choice for a short outing, relaxation or active leisure in nature.
